The Sicilian A Novel Mario Puzo Books

The Sicilian A Novel Mario Puzo Books
The Sicilian is a different storyline from The Godfather, but does intersect with Michael Corleone just before and just after his return to the US after that Sollozzo unpleasantness. There also is a surprising connection with Peter Clemenza. If you enjoyed The Godfather, then I believe you will enjoy The Sicilian.

The Sicilian A Novel Mario Puzo Books Reviews
I have watched The Godfather more than one thousand times in my lifetime and I will certainly never cease to. I read Puzo's The Godfather when I was very young and I've re-read it over the years, but I came across The Sicilian and I was blown away. Puzo's vivid imagery places you on the hilltops of Montelepre and Corleone. Turi is an unforgettable and dynamic protagonist whom Michael Corleone wishes to emulate. The last few pages of the book contain some of the most chilling dialogue I have ever come across and brought me to tears. Truly, truly, a remarkable and life-changing read.
Puzo's best was The Godfather. Reading the others after that book was the wrong sequence. I gave 4 stars for what it probably should have been rated if I had read it before The Godfather.
If u are looking for a continuation of (The Godfather) and the Corleone family I would advise to watch the movie Godfather part 2 because this book rarely mentions them and is actually a fictional book based on the real life of Sicilian bandit Salvatore Giuliano.
One of the best! Incredible writing, intriguing story, and spellbinding. I'm Sicilian so it was great to read about Sicily's history. I had heard about this Robin Hood bandit and was intrigued to know the background of the actual person. Not giving anything away in the plot. Just read and enjoy.
Ok, I know it's Puzo but still what a spectacular book that I'd failed to read before now. I've seen the Godfather movies dozens of times, but somehow did not read this book. The book sheds so much light on my own Sicilian ancestry and Puzo's pro-writing style, his depth of character development and research are what made him such a well-respected and legendary writer. If you, like me, saw the movies, but never read the books, you've missed out. Correct that huge error and read this book now.
EXCELLENT--- READ BY A WHOLE CAST. AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THE GODFATHER. PLUS THE READER LEARNS A LOT ABOUT
THE COUNTRY AND ITS PEOPLE, HOW THEY THINK- AND THEIR VALUE SYSTEM.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I absolutely loved this book, and Mario Puzo's story-telling abilities in general. If youre a fan of The Godfather movies and the first book, then you would most definitely enjoy this. The second movie however, has nothing to do with this book. It takes place in the time during which Michael Corleone was hiding out in Italy. There's a little bit of timeline jumping for different characters but it wasnt confusing or anything. Great read, I was hooked from the first chapter, and it was cool to see what Michael had to deal with or what was going on while he was waiting to come home from Italy
